With the right software and the right team, implementation is really simple.
At Graphium Health, we’ve focused on streamlining EMR implementation. While the typical process may be time-consuming and burdensome, we’ve been able to create a straightforward and painless experience that can be completed in only two days.
Below is an actual timeline from a recent installation performed at North River Surgical Center (NRSC), an Endoscopy center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Prep-work (10 hours)
Preparation prior to our arrival consisted of collaboration with client to design and develop their ideal anesthesia forms, sharing a 9 minute video tutorial with providers showing their custom forms in action, and shipping hardware to client for facility-specific configuration.
Day #1: Get Right To Work
10:30am – 1:00pm: Device Configuration
Graphium’s mobile EMR has only two requirements: a WiFi connection and access to networked printers. The Graphium Health trainer works with facility IT staff to add the devices to the hospital network and ensure successful connectivity.
1:00pm – 2:30pm: Inivitations and Demonstrations
Providers receive invitations in their email and create Graphium Health accounts right from their smart phone or computer. After creating a user account, each provider receives a hands-on demonstration of using Graphium EMR.
2:30pm – 3:00pm: Super User Training
Already, NRSC providers are ready to start using the system. The group selects their own “Super User” who uses Graphium EMR in a real case, shadowed by a RepTrax-Certified Graphium Health trainer. After just one case, the provider is able to perform additional cases on their own.
3:00 – 5:00: Staff & Organizational Training
At the end of the day, a Pre-Op nurse and an Organizational Administrator are trained to utilize and support the system from the Graphium Dashboard, where they can both control the system and also analyze the operational data from all cases performed at NRSC.
“Graphium EMR was much easier to use than I had anticipated. I actually charted on one case the first day after simply talking through its use. Graphium EMR is a very intuitive system!”

Day #2: It’s a wrap. (Seriously)
6:00am – 7:00am: Inivitations and Demonstrations
Providers unavailable the previous day receive invitations and the same hands-on demonstration from the previous day.
7:30am – 12:00pm: Up and Running
All 4 Endoscopy locations begin charting all of their cases using Graphium EMR. Though hardly necessary, the Graphium Trainer shadows providers to ensure smooth adoption.
1:00pm – 3:30pm: Training with Leadership
Group and Facility leaders are trained on the Graphium Dashboard reporting features.
3:30pm – 4:00pm: Farewells
Closing Q&A session with Group leadership. Trainer departs facility. No subsequent calls to Graphium Support are necessary.
In less than 2 days, North River Surgical Center achieved:
1. 100% case capture with no loss in productivity
2. Immediate PQRS compliance via Anesthesia Quality Institute
3. Billing integration with their RCM vendor
4. Daily operational performance summaries delivered to key stakeholders each morning
5. Industry-leading, real-time, drillable dashboards of productivity, efficiency, and quality across all operating rooms
At Graphium Health, we understand the value of your time to both you and the patients you serve. We work hard to give you tools that will make you better without getting in the way. Welcome to a new way of thinking about Anesthesia technology and software.
That’s It: But before we go…Tom’s gonna find some wildlife.
Tom Wilson
If you haven’t had a chance to meet or get to know Tom, you are missing out on one of the most interesting people you will ever meet. Tom has never met an animal he doesn’t like, and we’re relatively certain he’s never met an animal he couldn’t catch.
So once he’s done onboarding the next facility, it’s off to nature:
